Teenage rapist Charlie John Pearce tried to murder victim with paving slab
A teenager who bludgeoned a woman with a paving slab and left her for dead after raping her on his 17th birthday has been convicted of attempted murder.
Charlie John Pearce, from Leicester, searched the internet for videos depicting the rape of âhelplessâ women in the weeks leading up to the attack at about 11.35pm on July 3.
A court order preventing the identification of Pearce was lifted by Mr Justice Haddon-Cav e at Leicester crown court yesterday after applications made by the Press Association and the BBC.
He admitted rape, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and stealing the victimâs handbag but denied attempting to murder her in a park in Leicester.
